Build a Career at the Intersection of FinTech and Financial Regulation

Qomply is offering a 3–6 month paid Operations Internship within our Managed Services team. This role is designed for highly motivated university students or recent graduates who have a demonstrable interest in financial services regulation, transaction reporting, and financial technology (FinTech/RegTech).

This is not a general operations placement. It is a specialist opportunity to gain hands-on experience in regulatory reporting within a fast-growing RegTech environment, supporting financial institutions in meeting complex compliance obligations.

We are looking for candidates who are genuinely interested in building a career in financial services, regulation, compliance, or financial technology and who are eager to develop deep expertise in this space.

Whilst we cannot guarantee a permanent role after your internship, if we do have a role available that matches your skillset, you will be given first opportunity to apply. Currently, we do have permanent vacancies within the firm for talented individuals.

The Role: What You’ll Be Doing

As an Operations Intern in the Managed Services team, you will contribute to the delivery of regulatory reporting services for investment firms and other regulated entities.

1. Support Daily Regulatory Operations

  • Assist in monitoring the transaction reporting lifecycle: report construction, validation, reconciliation, and exception management
  • Support first-line operational oversight by logging client queries, investigating data issues, and escalating where appropriate
  • Help ensure timely and accurate submission of regulatory reports

2. Governance & Control Framework

  • Support the maintenance of operational procedures and documentation
  • Assist in monitoring SLAs, KPIs, and operational risk indicators
  • Contribute to strengthening internal controls aligned with regulatory requirements

3. Process & Regulatory Research

  • Research regulatory developments and industry best practice
  • Work with the Operations Manager to identify workflow inefficiencies and recommend improvements
  • Contribute to automation and process enhancement initiatives

4. Client & Internal Stakeholder Engagement

  • Prepare client-ready summaries, dashboards, and operational updates
  • Coordinate with regulatory and technical teams to ensure consistent service delivery

Who We’re Looking For

This role is suited to candidates who are serious about exploring a career in financial services regulation or FinTech.

Essential

  • Recently graduated in law, economics, political science, social sciences, finance, or a related discipline
  • Clear and demonstrable interest in law, financial regulation, compliance, financial markets, or regulatory technology
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive mindset with intellectual curiosity about how regulation operates in practice
  • Ability to work in a structured, process-driven environment

Desirable

  • Academic or practical exposure to financial regulation (e.g., MiFID II / MiFIR, EMIR, MAR)
  • Prior internship or coursework related to financial services, compliance, or data analysis
  • Interest in how technology supports regulatory oversight

What You’ll Gain

  • Direct exposure to regulatory reporting for investment banks, hedge funds, and asset managers
  • Hands-on experience within a RegTech Managed Service environment
  • Training on transaction reporting governance and regulatory frameworks
  • Insight into operational risk management and regulatory controls
  • Mentorship from experienced regulatory and operations professionals
  • Potential pathway to a permanent role for high-performing candidates

Important: Who This Internship Is For

This role is best suited to candidates who:

  • Are actively considering a career in financial services regulation or FinTech
  • Want exposure to the operational realities of compliance and regulatory reporting
  • Are motivated to take ownership and contribute meaningfully to a small, high-performing team

It would not be suitable for those seeking a short-term placement without a genuine interest in the sector.

This is a fulltime internship based onsite in our offices located in the City of London. You must have a valid work permit or visa that enable you to work in the UK.
